We are seeking an experienced Responsible Individual for a children's residential home. This is a hands-on, on-site role, working closely with an established Registered Manager to ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards.
The post holder will have a key role in the development, review, and oversight of policies, procedures, and the Statement of Purpose, ensuring practice aligns with regulatory requirements and the needs of the children. Experience in opening and registering a new children's home is highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as the Responsible Individual in line with Ofsted and regulatory requirements
- Provide on-site leadership, oversight, and professional support to the Registered Manager
- Oversee the creation, implementation, and regular review of policies and procedures
- Ensure the Statement of Purpose is accurate, compliant, and effectively embedded in practice
- Monitor compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Conduct regular on-site visits, audits, and quality assurance checks
- Ensure safeguarding systems and risk management processes are robust and effective
- Liaise with Ofsted and other professionals as required
- Proven experience as a Responsible Individual or in a senior leadership role within children's residential care
- In-depth knowledge of Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards
- Experience contributing to or overseeing policies, procedures, and Statements of Purpose
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to commit to 1-2 on-site days per week
- Experience opening, registering, or stabilising a new children's home
- £500 per day
