About Us:

Peterborough Women’s Aid was formed in 1975. The organisation has grown since that time providing not only safe and secure accommodation to women and children escaping domestic abuse, but also provides specific Advice Line Services and Outreach.

You will provide practical and emotional support to survivors of abuse from the Peterborough Community. You will be the first contact for some survivors so empathy, listening skills and a strong understanding of domestic abuse is essential. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to make a difference.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • To answer calls from victims, professionals, and members of the public
  • To monitor the webchat and referrals inbox and respond appropriately.
  • To support victims in a trauma informed way
  • To signpost victims to appropriate partner agencies and local resources
  • To record all interactions with victims on the PWA database
  • To identify safeguarding concerns and highlight to the appropriate Designated Safeguarding Lead.
