Peterborough Sailability enables people with disabilities to experience the freedom, challenge, and wellbeing benefits of sailing. We are looking for two new trustees: one with a legal background and another with knowledge of and links to our local community and/or local businesses.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified lawyer to bring a legal perspective to board discussions. This role involves policy review, safeguarding, contracts, and public liability matters. Previous trustee experience is not required, but an empathy for people with learning disabilities is essential.
- Professional with a background in business or community organisations to strengthen links with local businesses and not-for-profit organisations. This role will help secure funding for boats, equipment, and volunteer support. Previous trustee experience is not required, but an empathy for people with learning disabilities is essential.
What You Will Be Doing
- Serve on the Board of Trustees, ensuring Peterborough Sailability operates safely and legally, with a focus on strategy, performance, and assurance.
- Co‑operate with fellow trustees to manage finances, adhere to policies and legislation, act as custodians of boats and equipment, manage risks, and help the charity operate effectively now and in the future.
