Overview
As a Team Manager at Clare Lodge Secure Children’s Home, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the safe, effective, and high‑quality delivery of care for children within a secure environment. Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the home, ensuring practice is aligned with statutory regulations, inspection frameworks, and trauma‑informed principles.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of either operational or case‑management staff, providing regular supervision, performance oversight, and support to maintain high professional standards and staff wellbeing.
- Oversee safeguarding, care planning, and frontline practice—ensuring that all plans, risk assessments, and records are robust, up to date, and consistently implemented to promote positive outcomes for children.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners—including education, health, and social care professionals—to deliver integrated, child‑centred services.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes, audits, and inspection readiness, ensuring that all areas of responsibility remain compliant and evidence‑led.
- Support operational delivery through effective resource management, rota oversight, and participation in admissions and placement processes, while being prepared to step into senior roles when required to maintain continuity of leadership.
Qualifications
- Experienced and confident leader with a strong commitment to delivering high‑quality care within a secure and regulated environment.
- Clear understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and trauma‑informed practice, with ability to apply this consistently in day‑to‑day decision‑making.
- Ability to lead and motivate others, providing clear direction, effective supervision, and constructive challenge to support staff performance, wellbeing, and professional development.
- Organised, resilient, and capable of managing competing priorities while maintaining a visible and consistent leadership presence within the home.
- Strong communication and partnership skills, working effectively with colleagues, external professionals, and multi‑agency partners to ensure coordinated, child‑centred care.
