This Grade 11 Senior Occupational Therapist position within the Children’s Occupational Therapy team supports children and young people with health, social and housing needs in the community. You will carry out assessments, recommend interventions and provide equipment and adaptation solutions to promote independence and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload, including children with a range of needs.
- Carry out assessments and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Provide simple and complex equipment and adaptation solutions to promote independence and safety.
- Work closely with families, carers and colleagues across health, housing and social care to deliver a joined‑up, child‑centred service that supports positive outcomes.
- Maintain sound problem‑solving and clinical reasoning skills.
- Use Occupational Therapy skills to assess how a child’s additional needs impact on their occupational performance and recommend tailored interventions.
- Work collaboratively with other health and social care professionals to deliver comprehensive assessments and interventions that enhance the quality of life for children and families within Peterborough.
- Travel across the community to conduct home visits (must hold a full driving licence and have access to a car).
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Occupational Therapist with a degree in Occupational Therapy (registered with the HCPC).
- Experience working independently and as part of a collaborative team, ideally within children's services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support children in social care.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
