This is a part-time maternity leave cover to join the Adults Commissioning Team as a Commissioning Manager for the Learning Disability and Autism portfolio. You will join with a job-share partner to support the commissioning of services for adults with learning disabilities or autism, specifically around accommodation needs including residential and supported living services. This is a hybrid role with home and office base (Sand Martin House, Fletton Way). Occasional local travel to visit services is required. Part-time hours are 18.5 per week, with some flexibility on when those hours are delivered.
As a Commissioning Manager you will manage and deliver the strategic commissioning cycle, look at long-term city needs, and reconcile with the council budget planning cycle. You will be responsible for the delivery and management of contracts to meet identified needs, including relationships with providers and quality of delivery.
Your day-to-day work may include:
- Oversight of a portfolio of accommodation providers
- Oversight of monitoring visits conducted by officers, including escalation of concerns
- Working with partners (such as other LAs, the ICB and CQC) to collaborate on provider oversight and strategic plans
- Support for brokerage and social workers where individuals require a bespoke commissioning solution
- Gathering regular feedback from individuals who use our services on improvements and how they can be involved in shaping services
- Research, evaluation and consideration for the long-term needs of individuals with learning disabilities or autism in Peterborough
- Project work, including responsibility for the Respite Review and development and delivery of a respite strategy to address identified gaps
You will be supported by Commissioning Officers in commissioning and quality functions, with portfolios broadly divided into accommodation-based and community-based services and led by Senior Commissioning managers.
