The Peterborough City Council Fostering Service are currently seeking passionate and dedicated people to join our existing cohort of foster carers, to provide a loving, stable home for local children and young people. Our generous financial allowances help you to provide care for a local child and/or children, whether that be on a short or long-term basis. As a foster carer, you will be home based and will have full support from the experienced in-house fostering team, based at Sand Martin House, Peterborough.

Our foster carers benefit from excellent training opportunities with a hybrid approach of online and in-person training. You will also have the benefit of being paired with an experienced Foster Carer who will act as your mentor throughout the assessment process, access to a 24 advice and support line, and above all else, a chance to play a real part in the creation of a very rewarding and dedicated service.
We recognise the importance of transferable skills, and we provide a detailed and focused induction, so there is no requirement to have previous fostering experience, or to have had children of your own. Our Foster Carers come from all walks of life and there are no such things as ‘ideal foster carers'. This is a great opportunity for you to do something new and make a positive change to children and young people's lives.
All foster carers will be approved subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
