Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Work collaboratively with various members of the school community, agencies, school staff, children and parents to be a pivotal supportive link to help overcome barriers to learning.
- Understand the importance of Child Protection and be committed to safeguarding children’s welfare both at home and in school.
- Promote an effective relationship between home and school life for both children and parents.
- Have knowledge and awareness of opportunities and resources to support children and families in need.
- Maintain effective and efficient lines of communication between various groups and organisations throughout the community to ensure essential support is available for families.
- Have an understanding of procedures and systems involved in the role, including Social Services, Child Protection, Education Welfare Service policies and reporting standards.
- Maintain an approachable, controlled and focused manner throughout work, relaying a positive and optimistic attitude to support those in challenging situations.
- Have previous experience working with children and their families.
- Be able to work effectively, flexibly and independently, with willingness to show initiative and strong interpersonal skills.
- Be keen to support the ethos of a Church school.
