Freeman’s Endowed Junior CE Academy is a friendly, inclusive, nurturing school with a big family feel, where everyone is treated with kindness, respect and understanding. Our staff work hard to provide an ambitious curriculum so that our children receive the best possible education. We are proud of our close links with St Barnabas School, our feeder infant school. Both schools are led by the same Headteacher and Leadership Team, who support staff well-being and promote a positive working environment.
We are seeking someone who can:
- Work collaboratively with various members of the school community, including agencies, school staff, children and parents, to be a pivotal supportive link that helps overcome barriers to learning.
- Understand the importance of child protection and is committed to safeguarding children’s welfare both at home and in school.
- Promote an effective relationship between home and school life for both children and parents.
- Have knowledge and awareness of opportunities and resources to support children and families in need.
- Maintain effective and efficient communication lines between various groups and organisations throughout the community to ensure essential support is available for families.
- Have an understanding of procedures and systems involved in the role, including social services, child protection, education welfare service policies and reporting standards.
- Maintain an approachable, controlled and focused manner throughout their work, relaying a positive and optimistic attitude to support those in challenging situations; may need to deal with a wide-ranging audience on challenging issues.
- Have previous experience working with children and their families.
- Work effectively, flexibly and independently, with a willingness to show initiative and strong interpersonal skills.
- Be keen to support the ethos of a Church school.
