Looking for a role that makes a real difference while offering flexibility around your work-life balance?

Join Inspire Education Group (IEG) as a Learning Support Practitioner and help students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) develop the skills, confidence and independence to succeed.

With part-time, term-time-only working, this role could be ideal if you’re looking for a rewarding position that fits around other commitments while making a positive impact on young people’s lives.

About the role

You’ll work with students on a one-to-one or small-group basis outside the classroom, helping them overcome barriers to learning, develop independent strategies and achieve their study programme goals.

Working closely with teaching staff, Learning Support Coordinators and other support teams, you’ll provide tailored support that reflects each student’s individual needs and aspirations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering individual and small-group support sessions.

  • Helping students develop strategies to manage their learning needs and build independence.

  • Setting and reviewing targets to monitor progress and achievement.

  • Supporting students with assistive technology and appropriate learning resources.

  • Working with teaching staff to recommend adjustments and effective support strategies.

  • Contributing to support plans, risk assessments and EHCP provision where appropriate.

  • Signposting students to relevant college and external support services.

About you

You’ll be passionate about helping students overcome challenges, achieve their goals and prepare for adulthood.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting individuals with a range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

  • Holds a Level 2 qualification in a relevant SEND area, a Level 3 Learning Support qualification and a Level 3 Preparing to Teach qualification or willing to work towards.

  • Has Level 2 English and maths.

  • Can adapt support to meet individual needs and promote independence.

  • Is patient, compassionate and confident communicating with people from a range of backgrounds.

  • Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion and helping every student reach their potential.

Why work for IEG?

  • Term Time Working: Enjoy school holidays off, including Christmas and Easter breaks, with no requirement to book annual leave during these periods.
  • Competitive Pension: Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), including life assurance and death-in-service benefits
  • Health and Wellbeing: Benefit from a gym, free on-site parking, access to employee assistance programme and a friendly team atmosphere
  • Professional Development: Ongoing training and development opportunities, including sponsorship for HE/professional qualifications
  • Employee Benefits and Rewards: Vivup employee benefits, including lifestyle savings, eligibility to apply for a Blue Light Card, providing access to a wide range of national discounts

IEG is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, young people and any vulnerable groups within the college community and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to a thorough vetting process which includes an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
