Peterborough College is seeking a Quality Lead Practitioner to play a pivotal role in driving excellence in teaching, learning and assessment across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Further Education practitioner who wants to extend their impact beyond the classroom, coaching and developing colleagues while helping to shape the future of teaching and learning.

About the Role

  • As Quality Lead Practitioner, you will be a recognised role model for excellent teaching and learning, supporting colleagues at every stage of their professional journey.
  • Coach, mentor and develop teaching staff to improve classroom practice.
  • Support new colleagues through induction and probation, helping them become confident and successful educators.
  • Lead and deliver engaging CPD programmes that inspire innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to improve learner outcomes and teaching standards.
  • Conduct learning walks, teaching reviews and developmental quality activities.
  • Share current educational research and best practice across the organisation.
  • Support quality assurance processes, awarding body requirements and curriculum improvement planning.
  • Work alongside our ILT team to promote effective and innovative digital teaching practices.
  • Maintain a teaching commitment of approximately 10 hours per week, modelling outstanding classroom practice.

Who We're Looking For

  • Has a proven track record of delivering outstanding teaching and achieving excellent learner outcomes.
  • Has significant experience within Further Education.
  • Is passionate about coaching, mentoring and developing others.
  • Can inspire colleagues through collaboration, innovation and leadership.
  • Has a strong understanding of quality improvement, teaching and learning strategies, and current sector developments.
  • Embraces educational technology and innovative teaching approaches.
  • Has excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience of delivering staff development, conducting learning walks, lesson observations or mentoring colleagues would be highly advantageous.
