Peterborough College is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lecturer in Health and Social Care to join our dedicated Early Years, Health and Social Care team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner or lecturer to inspire the next generation of health and social care professionals while delivering high-quality teaching across a range of programmes from Level 1 through to Level 4 (HND).
We are looking for someone who can bring industry expertise into the classroom, engage learners through innovative teaching, and support them to achieve outstanding outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across a range of Health and Social Care programmes.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners and promote student success.
- Assess student work, provide constructive feedback and monitor progress against individual targets.
- Support students through tutorials, academic guidance and pastoral support.
- Develop course materials, schemes of work and learning resources that enhance the student experience.
- Contribute to course coordination, quality assurance activities and internal verification processes.
- Support students to secure and succeed in work experience placements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and continuously improve curriculum provision.
- Participate in student recruitment activities, open events, interviews and enrolment processes.
- Embed English, maths and digital skills into teaching and learning activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert ED or Diploma in Education and Training.
- A relevant Health and Social Care qualification at Level 3, 4 or above.
- Recent industry experience within the Health and Social Care sector.
- An Assessor Award (A1, TAQA or CAVA).
- Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to teach across a range of Health and Social Care qualifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate learners.
- A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement.
- Experience of Further Education, Higher Education, course coordination or internal verification would be advantageous.
