About the Role
Are you an ambitious computing professional or educator looking to inspire the next generation of tech talent? Peterborough College is seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Computing to deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment. In this role, you will shape the minds of students across a broad spectrum of levels, ranging from Level 3 Further Education right up to Level 6 Higher Education (UCP). You will be responsible for creating engaging session plans, developing evidence-based teaching practices, and using modern technology to maximize curriculum delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspiring Delivery: Plan and deliver dynamic, blended sessions across FE and HE modules using diverse, technology-enhanced teaching methods.
- Student Progression: Create individual SMART learning targets, track learner progress, and implement proactive interventions to drive high retention and success.
- Assessment & Quality: Design robust assessment activities, provide constructive, timely feedback, and participate in internal verification and quality assurance processes.
- Curriculum Evolution: Maintain currency in tech advancements (e.g., ChatGPT, AI) and incorporate subject‑specific continuous professional development (CPD) into your teaching practice.
- College Community: Participate in student recruitment activities (interviews, open evenings), collaborate in course team meetings, and embed core values like safeguarding, equality, and diversity into daily practice.
