If you’re passionate about the barbering industry and enjoy helping others develop, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Barbering professional to join our Adult Provision as a part-time Barbering Lecturer, delivering engaging and practical sessions to adult learners studying Barbering and Hair. This role is designed to fit alongside your existing career, with teaching taking place over two evenings per week. You can continue working in the industry while also helping adults develop the practical skills, confidence and knowledge they need to progress their careers.
About the role
You will use your industry experience to deliver practical and engaging barbering sessions, helping adult learners build their skills and prepare for progression within the industry. You will:
- Deliver engaging practical barbering sessions to adult learners
- Support learners working towards Barbering and Hair qualifications
- Demonstrate current barbering techniques, treatments and professional standards
- Keep your knowledge of current industry practices, trends and techniques up to date
- Contribute to course development, quality assurance and assessment processes
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and professional practice
About you
We’re particularly interested in hearing from experienced Barbers who are passionate about their trade and would enjoy passing their knowledge on to others. You will have:
- Recent and relevant professional experience within the barbering industry
- A relevant Level 3 or higher barbering, hairdressing or professional industry qualification
- Strong practical barbering skills and knowledge of current industry standards
- The ability to demonstrate techniques clearly and confidently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to inspire, motivate and support adult learners
- Previous teaching or training experience would be an advantage, but it is not essential. If you have the right industry experience and a genuine interest in teaching, we would be happy to hear from you.
