About the Role

Peterborough College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lecturer in Hair to join our Hair and Barbering team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to learners studying Hair and Barbering programmes from Level 1 to Level 3. Working within a supportive faculty, you will help students develop the technical skills, knowledge and confidence required to progress within the industry. The role includes planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student work, monitoring progress, setting individual learning targets and providing effective support to ensure positive learner outcomes. You will also contribute to course development, student recruitment activities and quality improvement processes.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • Industry experience within Hairdressing and/or Barbering.
  • A relevant qualification at Level 3 or above in Hairdressing, Barbering or a related subject area.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire learners to achieve their full potential.
  • A commitment to maintaining high professional and industry standards.

Teaching experience and a recognised teaching qualification are desirable; however, we are particularly interested in candidates with strong industry experience and subject expertise. If you do not currently hold a teaching qualification, support will be available to help you achieve one.
