Peterborough College is looking for a Technician/Trainer - Catering to join our Hospitality team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with industry experience who enjoys working with people and supporting practical learning. You'll play a key role in creating a safe, professional and engaging environment where learners can develop their catering skills and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support lecturers in the delivery of practical hospitality and catering sessions.
- Assist and supervise learners during practical activities, helping them develop industry-relevant skills.
- Maintain catering equipment, tools and resources, carrying out minor repairs where appropriate.
- Ensure workshops and training areas are safe, clean, organised and fully equipped for learning.
- Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate records of equipment and materials.
- Promote and uphold health and safety standards, including COSHH requirements and risk assessment processes.
- Work collaboratively with staff to provide an outstanding learning experience and support learner success.
What We're Looking For
You'll have experience working within the hospitality industry and be confident supporting others in a practical environment. Strong organisational skills, a proactive approach and the ability to build positive relationships with learners and colleagues are essential. Experience of training, coaching or working with young people would be advantageous.
