Team Manager – Children in Care Team

We are on a journey to delivering excellent services for all children, young people and families with strong and committed leaders. It is an exciting time to join Peterborough, where with the expert support of Leeds, we are implementing our Peterborough Family Valued approach to working relationally with all children, young people and families.

In this role you will manage and inspire a team of Social Workers, enthusiastically driving forward the highest quality services that achieve the best outcomes for every child and young person we care for.

All about you

  • You have current registration with Social Work England.
  • You are experienced, while being eager to learn.
  • You have a full Driving licence and are willing and able to travel between locations.
  • You have an in-depth knowledge of current legislation and guidance.
  • You thrive in diverse, supportive teams and feel empowered to make important decisions, using your creativity to solve challenging situations with innovative solutions.
  • You understand relational practice that places children, young people and families at the centre of practice.

In 2023, Peterborough’s Children’s Services received an OFSTED judgement of inadequate. However, it was highlighted that children in care received appropriate support from the children in care teams and we know our children well.

Our service boasts a wealth of neurodiversity, cultural diversity, and experienced social workers, enriching our approach to reflective practice and learning. Our committed and passionate social workers support each other, with manageable caseloads and a focus on life-changing results.

Our purpose-built office offers large river and green space views and is conveniently located near main road and rail transport links, fostering collaboration and seamless integration of services for the best outcomes for children in care.
