Overview
Are you an experienced Team Manager, or interested in the opportunity to progress, with a background in Adult Social Care? An opportunity has arisen for a permanent full time Team Manager role in our adult social care community service, within our Community Long-Term Team. The successful candidate will be based at Sand Martin House in Peterborough, although some flexible working / working from home will continue to be an option.
We are a team made up of Social Workers, alternatively qualified roles, Senior Social Worker and Team Manager. We offer support to people over the age of 18 with physical and learning disabilities, older people and their families and unpaid carers. Our team supports a variety of review activity, including post-hospital discharge, those in receipt of a Direct Payment and statutory annual reviews within individuals own homes, including supported living and care home settings. We apply a blended approach to our reviews through telephone, technology and home visits to understand and appreciate an individual\\\’s interests, aspirations, concerns and goals and review their current services and ongoing needs. We consider their existing networks of family, friends and wider community support are explored, focusing on what the individual can do for themselves.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will have line management responsibilities and therefore experience of acting in a supervisory role is essential. We are looking for someone with strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate and manage the demand, allocation and customer journey of those receiving a review. The service is busy, lively and interesting and would ideally suit a Manager who is proactive and adaptable in leading a team, and who has a passion for ensuring that the adults receiving care and support in our area receive a positive experience when having their needs met. A Team Manager in the service should be strong and supportive and provide good quality support, guidance and leadership. The role is varied on a day-to-day basis and allows for a high level of multi-agency working, creativity and autonomy. The successful candidate will be part of an established team of Team Managers working across our Adult Social Care services.
Applicants would need to hold a current Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Experience of working with adults is essential along with a good understanding of Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Continuing Health Care process and be able to professionally utilise a Strengths Based Approach and be able to make risk assessed decisions to promote the safety of others.
