Overview
Peterborough City Council\’s Recruitment Team is undergoing a significant transformation. We\’ve just launched a new Applicant Tracking System (ATS), making this a fantastic time to join us as a Recruitment & Retention Officer on a fixed term basis until March 2026.
About the role
In this role, you\’ll be central to our recruitment and retention activities, providing expert advice and support to managers and stakeholders. You\’ll proactively source candidates, manage the end-to-end recruitment process, and find innovative ways to engage with talent. Your work will help us to stay competitive and ensure a positive experience for candidates and colleagues alike.
- Offer advice, training, and support to managers, helping improve hiring and staff retention across the council.
- Help deliver recruitment and retention activities, and help create effective strategies.
- Source candidates for various roles, including hard-to-fill positions.
- Manage the full recruitment process to create a great experience for everyone.
- Find new ways to connect with candidates, using best practices to stay competitive.
- Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion in all hiring plans.
- Support the creation and use of employment policies, following laws and council values.
We are looking for someone with experience in recruitment (either in-house or agency), strong communication and problem-solving skills, and a commitment to equality and diversity. You\’ll need to be flexible, able to work independently, and ready to embrace new ways of working.
