Information About The Post: Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth‑form college in Winchester, rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every area. The Study Support Department is a dedicated team that supports students with a wide range of specific learning difficulties. This role offers a rare opportunity for a qualified teacher to join the team as a Specialist SpLD Teacher/Assessor.
To apply you must have a teaching qualification, including an SpLD teaching qualification (Level 5) and hold either a current Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) Assessment Practising Certificate or a post‑graduate qualification (Level 7) in individual assessment. Experience teaching students with SpLDs in the post‑16 sector and assessing under JCQ regulations is highly desirable.
We are dedicated to safeguarding the students in our care. A Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced disclosure will be required for any appointment, and staff undertake regular safeguarding and Prevent training and are subject to ongoing safeguarding scrutiny.
