Information About The Post

Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.

Our team of Faculty Administrators acts as an interface in pastoral matters between the staff in each of our faculties and the students, their parents and carers. You will undertake a range of administrative duties and will provide front line support and advice to parents/carers on the telephone and by email. You will deal with some complex and potentially emotionally demanding issues and must have the resilience and sensitivity to manage the needs of all parties. There are some very busy times, so you will need to be able to work well under pressure, remaining professional while prioritising appropriately. Proficiency in IT packages is essential and experience working with 16 – 19 year olds is highly desirable.

This is a term-time position, working Monday to Friday. There may be a requirement to work additional days (up to 10) during the college holidays; this will be discussed further at interview.

We are dedicated to safeguarding the students in our care. To that end, a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced disclosure will be required in the event of an individual being offered a position within our College. Our staff undertake regular safeguarding and Prevent training and are subject to ongoing safeguarding scrutiny.

Due to the number of applications we receive, we regret that we are unable to respond to all applicants personally. If you have not heard from us by the interview date you should assume that you have not been successful on this occasion. However, we would be very pleased to hear from you again in respect of future vacancies. Thank you for your interest in working at Peter Symonds College.
