We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Media to join our college on a part-time basis (0.62FTE) from August.

Salary: £33,465 - £51,714 per annum FTE; 0.62 FTE – £20,593 - £31,823 per annum.

Hours: 0.62 FTE – 16 sessions.

Contract: Permanent.

Start date: 25th August 2026.

Interview date: 20th May 2026.

Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which is proud to be rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. As Media is such an important and complicated part of our lives, it is hardly surprising that so many diverse and interesting people have chosen to study it here. By doing so, our learners can understand how media images and messages shape the fabric of our society and their own identities.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Media and Film Studies, delivering excellent and effective subject lessons.
  • Model a friendly, team‑centred approach while supporting students, the department and the College in achieving success.

Qualifications

  • We welcome applications from newly qualified or experienced teachers.
  • Candidates must hold a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced disclosure, have completed safeguarding and Prevent training, and ideally be qualified to teach Media and Film Studies.
