Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as 'outstanding' in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher to join our College on a maternity cover contract as Head of Politics and develop and secure the best outcomes for our students. Politics across year 1 and year 2 is taught to more than 400 students. You will have an excellent record of teaching to the 16-19 age group and the ability to lead a team of staff to maintain and improve already high standards of teaching and learning. You will be able to demonstrate the impact of successful teaching and some leadership in raising student attainment in your current role and will be joining a supportive team who look to drive standards across the College.

- Teach Politics to Year 1 and Year 2, with Politics across year 1 and year 2 taught to more than 400 students.
- Demonstrate an excellent record of teaching to the 16-19 age group and the ability to lead a team of staff to maintain and improve standards.
- Show the impact of successful teaching and some leadership in raising student attainment in your current role and contribute to driving standards across the College.
