We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to take responsibility for our monthly payroll and pension arrangements.

Information About The Post

Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which is proud to be rated by Ofsted as outstanding in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead the end-to-end payroll and pension functions for our payroll of approximately 800 staff. Reporting to the Director of Personnel, you will ensure accurate and timely monthly payroll, manage Teachers Pensions and LGPS administration, and maintain full compliance with payroll, pension and HMRC legislation. The role involves close working with Personnel, Finance, senior leaders and external stakeholders, production of statutory returns, year-end processes and support for audits and workforce reporting.

Applicants should have substantial payroll experience, strong technical knowledge, exceptional attention to detail and excellent organisational and communication skills. Experience within education and relevant professional qualifications are desirable.

  • Collaborate with Personnel, Finance, senior leaders and external stakeholders; produce statutory returns, year-end processes and support audits and workforce reporting.
  • Maintain high standards of attention to detail and strong organisational and communication skills in all payroll-related activities.

Qualifications

Applicants should have substantial payroll experience, strong technical knowledge, and relevant professional qualifications are desirable. Experience within education is desirable.
