We have an opportunity for a teacher to join our college on a full time maternity cover contract.
Salary: Β£33,465 - Β£51,714 per annum plus Management Responsibility B - Β£3,029.
Hours: 1.0FTE.
Contract: Fixed Term - Maternity Cover.
Start Date: September 2026.

Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as outstanding in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher to join our College on a maternity cover contract as Head of Politics and develop and secure the best outcomes for our students.
ResponsibilitiesYou will teach Politics across year 1 and year 2, currently delivered to more than 400 students. You will have an excellent record of teaching to the 16-19 age group and the ability to lead a team of staff to maintain and improve high standards of teaching and learning. You will be able to demonstrate the impact of successful teaching and some leadership in raising student attainment in your current role and will join a supportive team that drives standards across the College.
