The Key Worker is responsible to the Manager, Deputy Manager and Room Leader. Duties will include:

  • Adhering to the Policies and Procedures of Peter Pan Pre-School & Nursery and being vigilant to safeguarding issues and acting on them immediately by reporting any concerns to the DSL. Ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
  • Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background, in particular challenging situations where racism or discrimination is displayed.
  • Keeping up to date development records and observations.
  • Positive management of children’s behaviour.
  • Preparation, care and cleanliness of the classrooms and equipment.
  • Providing good role model for Students, Bank Staff and Volunteers and helping new staff to fit into the nursery.
  • Recording and monitoring accident, incidents and risk assessments.
  • Supervision of meals and mealtimes, where appropriate, preparation of babies’ bottles.
  • Laundry duties.
  • Completion of training and training courses required for your CPD and arranged by the Manager appropriate to the needs of the setting and as part of the annual appraisal process.
  • Attendance at staff meetings as arranged by the Manager.
  • Participating in regular parents’ meetings, publicity, open weekends and children’s outings.
  • Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Manager, Deputy Manager and Room Leader.
