Peter Mikic Studio is an internationally recognised interior architecture and design studio, delivering refined, highly bespoke residential and hospitality projects. Known for our sophisticated aesthetic and meticulous attention to detail, we work with a global client base to create timeless interiors that balance elegance, comfort, and functionality.

As part of a collaborative and design-led studio, you will have the opportunity to contribute to globally recognised projects while working closely with senior leadership in a role that offers real influence over how the studio operates and evolves.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operations Manager to join our team. This is a pivotal role within the studio, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, supporting project delivery, and ensuring the business runs efficiently, commercially, and to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in operations or studio management within a design-led environment, and will be confident balancing strategic oversight with hands-on delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Studio Operations & Delivery
    • Oversee the end-to-end operational delivery of all projects, ensuring alignment with programme, scope, and budget.
    • Implement and manage studio-wide systems, workflows, and resource planning.
    • Monitor project performance, identifying risks and ensuring proactive resolution.
  • Team Leadership & Resource Management
    • Lead, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team (designers, interior architects, and support staff).
    • Oversee team resourcing, utilisation, and workload planning across all projects.
    • Foster a collaborative, high-performance studio culture.
  • Process, Systems & Innovation
    • Continuously refine studio processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
    • Introduce and manage digital tools (e.g. project management platforms, resource planning tools, AI-assisted workflows where appropriate).
    • Champion best practices in documentation, reporting, and knowledge sharing.
  • Commercial & Financial Oversight
    • Oversee project budgets, fee tracking, and financial reporting.
    • Drive profitability through effective cost control, forecasting, and fee management.
    • Support business planning, revenue tracking, and pipeline visibility.
  • Reporting & Leadership Support
    • Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on project status, financial performance, and studio operations.
    • Contribute to strategic planning and business improvement initiatives.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
    • Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
    • Support the leadership team in maintaining exceptional client relationships and service standards.
    • Ensure clear communication across all project phases.
  • Supplier & Contractor Management
    • Maintain and develop relationships with suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
    • Oversee procurement processes and contract negotiations in collaboration with design teams.
  • Quality, Compliance & Sustainability
    • Ensure all projects meet the studio’s design, technical, and delivery standards.
    • Maintain compliance with UK regulations, H&S requirements, and contractual obligations.
    • Support integration of sustainable design practices and responsible sourcing.
Requirements
  • 6+ years’ experience in an operations, project management, or studio management role within high-end interior design, architecture, or a related design-led environment.
  • Proven experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, with strong programme, budget, and resource management capabilities.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing fees, budgets, and project profitability.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a proactive, solutions-driven approach.
  • Confident in managing client and stakeholder relationships at all levels, with clear and professional communication skills.
  • Experience implementing or improving studio processes, workflows, and operational systems.
  • Proficiency in project management and resource planning tools (e.g. Asana, Monday, Smartsheet or similar).
  • Working knowledge of design software (Adobe Creative Suite) sufficient for project oversight.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and delivery excellence.
  • Able to prioritise effectively and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced studio environment.
  • Collaborative, personable, and engaged in fostering a positive studio culture.
  • Interest in design, interiors, and the creative process.
  • Understanding of UK regulations, contracts, and health & safety requirements.
  • Awareness of sustainable design practices and responsible sourcing.
  • Interest in emerging tools and technologies (including AI) and their application within studio operations is advantageous.

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 9:30am – 6:00pm. Studio-based role at 61 Charlotte Road, London EC2A 3QT.
