With the expertise and experience, Peter Marshall Steel Stairs can deliver wide ranging solutions, from small one-off applications to multi-site, multi-flight installations.

Role Purpose

We are looking to recruit a Fabricator Welder - Days responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for cutting, assembling and welding steel components used in the construction of buildings, staircases, balustrade platforms, bridges, industrial plants and other structures.
  • Transform raw steel materials into accurate, high quality structural elements that meet engineering drawings specifications and standards.

Role Responsibilities

  • Read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Fabricate and assemble structural steel components i.e.: UB’s, UC’s, PFC’s, CHS’s etc.
  • Perform cutting, grinding and welding tasks to meet project requirements.
  • Use hand tools, fabrication machinery and measuring equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ensure all fabricated work meets dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
  • Always maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet deadlines.
  • Always wear full and correct PPE.
  • Always work safely adhering to all H&S procedures.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Trade qualification in fabrication/welding (preferred but not essential).
  • Previous experience in steel fabrication.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in welding and metalworking processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Good physical fitness and ability to handle materials.
  • Safety-conscious with knowledge of workshop health & safety practices.
  • Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality and dependability.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
