Client Adviser – Corporate
About The Role
At Macbeth we are seeking a highly motivated Commercial Client Adviser to join our growing team.
This role is ideal for an individual looking to join a fast‑paced, commercial broking environment where you will be supporting the Client Executive on all aspects of broking, both renewals and new business.
- Day To Day Accountabilities
- Work with and support the Client Directors/Managers to service and retain existing clients and generate new business.
- Fully understand the clients business and insurance requirements.
- Handle all types of risks, from traditional Material Damage and Liabilities to Cyber Liability, Management Liability and Professional Indemnity.
- Manage the client and be the first point of contact for all day‑to‑day queries, renewals, amendments and midterm adjustments as necessary.
- Produce and maintain accurate Acturis client records.
- Produce system Invoices for renewals, mid‑term adjustments and new business cases.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients to provide best customer service.
- Provide clients and prospects with insurance advice.
- Produce and send to clients renewal letters as requested by the Client Manager/Director.
- Produce renewal reports for the Client Manager/Director.
- Provide insurers with accurate information via market presentations and follow up requests to ensure they can assess each risk correctly.
- Discuss and negotiate terms with insurers.
- Attend client visits with the Client Manager/Director where necessary and required.
- Take ownership of problems and their resolution, seeking assistance where necessary.
- Review policy documentation to ensure the information presented is correct.
- Chase client debt where necessary.
- Identify cross and up‑selling opportunities.
- Delegate tasks to the Broker support role.
- Any other ad‑hoc duties as requested.
- Stakeholder Management
- Maintain and grow excellent relationships with clients and insurers.
- Build internal relationships across the organisation.
- Compliance
- Be aware and understand the Company’s compliance policies and procedures and ensure full compliance relevant to the role.
- Ensure all relevant business activities fully comply with FCA regulations.
- Promote and embed a Treat Customers Fairly (TCF) and Consumer Duty culture across the organisation.
- Conduct and Ethics
- Lead by personal example and demonstrate high standards of professional behaviour and ethical understanding of colleagues, customers and the community.
- Comply with the FCA Individual Conduct Rules.
Skills And Experience Required
- Good communication skills.
- Negotiation and time management skills.
- Understanding of the insurance market and regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively or independently.
- Good attention to detail.
- Proactive and self‑motivated.
- Cert CII qualified, equivalent experience or willingness to study.
- 4‑5 years Client Adviser experience preferred but not compulsory.
