PETA Ltd are proud to be working with Alitex Ltd to recruit and train an Apprentice Accounts Assistant to support their finance team and wider business.

Training to be provided:

  • Level 2 Finance/Accounts Assistant Apprenticeship Standard.
  • You will complete a 15-month apprenticeship which includes 1 day per week at the PETA training centre in Cosham.
  • You will be supported every 6-8 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.

About the role:

The role is important in enabling the Finance Team to maintain the company’s day-to-day financial records and provide the wider business with increased quality of management information. You will be joining a team of 3, to help support our continued growth in our UK markets and expansion into the USA.

  • Accurate and timely processing of purchase and sales invoices
  • Respond and resolve finance-related queries from colleagues and suppliers
  • Maintain accurate financial records
  • Supporting month-end accounting processes
  • Develop existing processes to improve efficiency
  • Carry out general administrative duties within the finance department

  • Alitex is based in a rural location near Petersfield in Hampshire, with limited access to public transport
  • Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK and have a full driving license

What are the career prospects?

Once you have completed the Level 2 AAT Apprenticeship, there would be the opportunity to complete the Level 3 apprenticeship and further learning and development.

Essential Skills:

  • GCSEs in maths and English with at least a grade C/4
  • A structured and organised approach to managing workload
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to work on your own and within a team
  • IT literate, with experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and a willingness to learn
  • Comfortable asking questions and seeking support when needed
  • Can be trusted to handle confidential information appropriately
