About the role:
The Organic Search Manager at Pet Drugs Online will be responsible for developing and executing the organic search strategy to drive organic traffic, improve search engine rankings, and enhance the online visibility of the brand. This role will deliver measurable impact and support revenue growth across our categories.
You will own the relationship with our SEO/PR agencies and lead a small team of two, while also being hands‑on and supporting with audits and implementation.
You will have the strongest background in technical SEO, but also good knowledge of on‑page, content and offsite best practices.
SEO has shifted beyond just keywords and rankings. It’s about showing up wherever your customers are online. Search is evolving fast, and this role needs to lead the business to this new era of discovery for our brand and products.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop the SEO/AEO strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and category sales targets
- Oversee the businesses implementation of SEO and make recommendations to ensure best practices
- Work with our SEO agency to carry out deep‑dive technical audits and investigation
- Manage your team and support their development and growth
- Optimise crawlability, internal linking structure, and indexation strategy
- Own structured data markup, canonical tags, and on‑site technical hygiene
- With the Ecommerce team to monitor and improve performance across Core Web Vitals and mobile UX
- Use our SEO tools and dashboards to analyse performance, troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Oversee the strategy to optimise for both prompts and keywords, ensuring content is structured to be surfaced in AI powered search engines
- Work with our digital PR agency and Editorial Executive to leverage opportunities to build offsite brand visibility and authority
- Collaborate with the Ecommerce team to embed SEO into the development roadmap
- Coordinate with the social team to provide guidance on social search discovery
- Stay at the forefront of consumer search behaviour, algorithm updates, emerging trends, and evolving best practices
- Report on performance and competitor visibility, while clearly communicating complex SEO information to senior stakeholders
- Own the relationship with our partner agencies and ensure maximum value add.

- Proven experience in a senior SEO role within an ecommerce environment
- Technical SEO & CMS platforms background
- Analytical, methodological and commercial mindset
- Proficiency with GA4, GSC & SEO tools
- Confident reporting to stakeholders at all levels
- Strong attention to detail
