Award-winning animal charity, Pet Blood Bank UK, is recruiting for the position of Session Coordinator. Session Coordinators are responsible for the successful organisation of donation sessions held across the country. Coordinating donor bookings and liaising with host venues, they ultimately play a vital role in ensuring enough blood is collected to meet demand from the veterinary industry, and provide excellent customer service to all involved with the donation sessions.
Launched in 2007, Pet Blood Bank UK is the only charity that provides a blood bank service for all vets across the UK. As part of our charitable remit, our aim is to advance animal health and welfare and to relieve suffering by providing quick and convenient access to blood. Every unit of blood helps save up to four other lives, saving thousands of lives every year.

What you’ll do
- Assess and register prospective new donors.
- Coordinate sufficient owners to attend assigned donation sessions in line with KPI targets.
- Answer and make phone calls, manage email, text, and mobile app enquiries from owners to make bookings.
- Communicate with both kennel and vet practice host venues to organise session dates and ensure all donation session information is received in a timely manner.
- Build and maintain a friendly and professional rapport with donor owners, host venues, and volunteers to encourage support of the charity. This may involve visiting vet and kennels sites.
- Provide other departments and Line Managers with key information and updates about owners, host venues, and volunteers.
- Use Pet Blood Bank computer systems to maintain donor and host venue records.
- Record and where appropriate escalate feedback from owners, host venues, and volunteers.
- Play an active role in the running of the Donor Admin Department and office by answering telephone and email enquiries, helping to manage department email inboxes, and undertaking general admin tasks.
- Take part in events organised or supported by the organisation.
What we need
This role is an interesting blend of venue liaison, donor support and general administration office duties. You’ll be a confident and empathic communicator with a professional and friendly telephone manner, used to dealing with different people…from vet surgeons to donor dog owners!

- The ability to deliver high-quality customer service to ensure a professional and positive donor experience.
- Effective communication skills, experienced in having positive and professional interactions with donors, veterinary professionals, kennel staff, and team members.
- Experience of handling diverse office and administrative responsibilities with precision.
- A proactive and enthusiastic outlook, with the resilience to problem solve and make decisions.
- Empathy with the pet-owning public and respect for donor welfare.
- A full UK driving licence; you’ll be visiting venues and sessions as part of this role.

This role is permanent, 37.5 hours per week working Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm (with some flexibility required).
