We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team at Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel. Reporting to the Hotel Finance Manager, you will provide financial and administrative support to the accounting and finance function for the Pestana Hotel Group in the UK. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on finance experience or formal finance education, strong Microsoft Excel skills, and a genuine interest in the hospitality industry.

Requirements:
- Based in London, UK
- Previous experience in accounting or finance (essential)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (essential)
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional, fast-paced environment
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the purchasing process, including raising purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, and negotiating quotations
- Post deliveries against purchase orders and verify supplier invoices, following up on discrepancies where required
- Ensure all invoices for goods and services are accurate and posted in the correct accounting period
- Coordinate supplier payment requests with the Treasury and Accounts Payable teams based in Lisbon
- Provide documentation and templates to shared services for new vendor setup, product creation, price updates, and other master data maintenance
- Count and reconcile weekly cash collections, ensuring alignment with Opera reports and preparing cash for collection by the Cash Transport Company
- Post all bank transfers (BACS) received into Opera
- Provide supporting documentation to the Treasury team for credit card charge backs
- Submit guest refund requests to the Treasury department
- Post petty cash expenses and regularly reconcile operational cash floats
- Analyse open balances relating to vendors, purchasing workflows, and treasury accounts
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks as required
