Finance Manager – 12-Month Fixed Term Contract (Transformation)

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
Reporting to: UK Finance Director

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager to join us on a 12-month fixed-term basis, supporting one of our business units through an important period of transformation.

This is much more than a traditional Finance Manager role. Alongside taking ownership of day-to-day financial management and reporting, you will play a key role in strengthening processes, improving financial controls and driving finance transformation across the business.

You will take ownership of the order-to-invoice process, help stabilise and improve financial reporting, introduce scalable and efficient processes, and ensure the business has the structure and controls needed to support its continued growth.

You’ll also manage a small finance administration team, work closely with operational leadership and PCP’s wider finance function, and act as a key driver of positive change within the business unit.

This role would suit someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, solving problems and building structure from the ground up. You’ll be comfortable working in an evolving environment, able to challenge existing ways of working and confident in bringing people with you through change.

What You’ll Be Doing

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Take full ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage CRM-to-finance system reconciliations and ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Prepare and review journals, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure financial data is complete, accurate and reliable.
  • Improve the quality of financial reporting, analysis and insight provided to stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve issues within financial processes and reporting.

Team Leadership

  • Manage, develop and support a small finance administration team.
  • Provide clear structure, coaching and guidance to improve capability and performance.
  • Embed best practice across finance administration processes.
  • Strengthen processes around onboarding new clients and the timely production of invoices.
  • Create a culture of accountability, accuracy and continuous improvement.

Finance Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies, process gaps, risks and areas of weak control, and implement practical improvements.
  • Drive standardisation of finance processes in line with Group best practice.
  • Support the implementation of new systems, automation and future ERP integration.
  • Document key finance processes, controls and procedures to create a clear and sustainable framework.
  • Lead and support change initiatives across the business unit.

Business Partnering

  • Act as the key finance contact for the business unit leadership team.
  • Build strong relationships with operational stakeholders and improve financial understanding and accountability.
  • Provide meaningful analysis and commentary to support commercial and operational decision-making.
  • Challenge existing practices constructively and influence positive change.
  • Work closely with PCP Finance leadership to ensure the business unit is aligned with wider Group objectives.

Controls & Governance

  • Establish and strengthen financial controls within a previously low-control environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Group finance policies and procedures.
  • Identify areas of financial risk and take appropriate action to mitigate them.
  • Support the integration of the business unit into the wider PCP finance framework.
  • Help establish sustainable processes that can support the business beyond the initial transformation period.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a qualified accountant who combines strong technical finance capability with a practical, hands-on approach to transformation and change.

You'll ideally have:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager or senior management accounting role.
  • Strong experience owning and delivering month-end processes.
  • Experience improving or implementing finance processes, systems and controls.
  • A track record of working in environments where processes and structures need to be developed or improved.
  • Experience within a newly acquired, turnaround or transformation environment would be highly desirable.
  • Experience within a private equity-backed, acquisitive or fast-paced organisation would be advantageous.

Apply today to join PCP and play a key role in shaping the future of the business.
