Responsible for the effective and humane control of pests and birds, ensuring client satisfaction and compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of client properties to identify pest and bird issues, entry points, and contributing factors.
- Develop and implement tailored pest and bird management plans using a variety of techniques, including trapping, baiting, exclusion, and deterrent systems.
- Apply pesticides and other control agents safely and in accordance with manufacturer instructions, company policies, and relevant legislation.
- Install and maintain bird proofing solutions such as netting, spikes, and wires.
- Educate clients on pest prevention measures and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, materials used, and client communications.
- Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service and build positive relationships with clients.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry best practices and new technologies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Pest Control Technician, specifically with bird control, is highly desirable.
- Relevant pest control qualifications (e. g., BPCA/RSPH Level 2 in Pest Management or equivalent) are essential.
- Full UK driving license with a clean record.
- Strong understanding of pest biology, behavior, and control methods.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertaining to pest control.
- Excellent problem-solving and observational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and at height (with appropriate safety training).
