The Role

Perthyn is recruiting an Advanced Supported Living Manager to join our Nottingham team, based from our Mansfield office. You will manage Supported Living services, leading teams who support adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex or high‑risk needs. Working closely with the Regional Manager and our in‑house Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Team, you will ensure safe, predictable and person‑centred services are delivered consistently. The role requires strong leadership, confidence in high‑risk environments and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.

The People You Will Support

As a Supported Living Manager, you will work closely with people who have complex needs, autism and a history of behaviours that can challenge. Support teams are small, and you will be actively involved in maintaining strong, trusting relationships. People are supported using autism‑specific, trauma‑informed approaches with clear, structured and predictable routines. Experience within forensic or highly complex risk environments is desirable.

Key Responsibilities - Supported Living Manager

  • Leading, mentoring and developing staff teams
  • Ensuring consistent implementation of support plans, risk assessments and PBS plans
  • Embedding Active Support, PBS and predictable systems
  • Providing calm and confident leadership during challenging situations
  • Coaching colleagues to build confidence, resilience and skills
  • Maintaining clear expectations and consistency across services
  • Working in partnership with Perthyn’s in‑house PBS Team
  • Building strong relationships with families and external professionals
  • Ensuring documentation remains accurate, compliant and person‑centred
  • Representing Perthyn at reviews, meetings and inspections

A full UK driving licence is essential. You will participate in regional on‑call arrangements.

About You

You will be a resilient and reflective leader with a confident and supportive management style. Essential experience includes:

  • At least 2 years’ experience managing or supervising teams in Supported Living or similar settings
  • Supporting adults with autism using structured and predictable approaches
  • Supporting people with complex needs and behaviours that can challenge
  • Managing risk within high‑risk environments
  • Strong organisational and decision‑making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • QCF/RQF Level 3 (or willingness to work towards Level 5)

Desirable experience includes:

  • Forensic or highly complex service environments
  • Embedding trauma‑informed and PBS approaches
