Are you passionate about creating safe environments and driving high standards in health and safety? Perthyn is seeking a Health and Safety Lead Officer to champion safety across our health and social care services. This is a pivotal role where your expertise will directly impact the well-being of both our staff and the people we support.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health and safety policies tailored to health and social care.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments across multiple sites.
- Lead training sessions and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Investigate incidents and liaise with regulatory bodies including the HSE.
- Prepare environmental reports and maintain accreditation standards.
- Collaborate across departments to integrate safety into all operations.
- Lead the Health & Safety Consultative Committee and oversee fire safety protocols.
Essential
- 3–5 years’ experience in health and safety management, ideally in health and social care.
- NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent certification.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel across England and Wales with a full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience with CQC and CIW compliance.
- Fire risk assessment in specialist housing.
- Train the Trainer qualification or similar.
- Knowledge of environmental and psychological safety principles.
