Main Purpose of the Role

Perth Grammar School is a six‑year, non‑denominational comprehensive secondary school with robust links to local, national and international partners. The Senior Management Team comprises the Head Teacher, three Depute Heads and a Business Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Wheels the development and delivery of high‑quality learning and teaching that meets the needs of all pupils.
  • Leads quality‑assurance measures to evaluate, plan, develop and monitor continuous improvement of the school.
  • Implements local and national curriculum objectives.
  • Supports and develops staff through professional learning and performance management.
  • Builds and maintains partnerships with local community, universities, colleges and other educational organisations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised secondary headship qualifications (Standard for Headship or equivalent) and current registration as a teacher in Scotland.
  • Significant experience in school leadership, preferably at a large secondary school.
  • Strong commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive, and environmentally conscious schooling.
  • Evidence of effective curriculum planning, assessment and high‑performance teaching practice.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
