Opportunity: Early Childhood Practitioner (Fixed Term until 16 August 2026) - PKC13548 £5,256 - £5,629 (7.2 Hours per week, Term-time only) Invergowrie Primary School. Invergowrie Nursery provides child-centred Early Learning and Childcare for children aged 3-5 years in an inclusive and caring environment. The nursery class provides early learning and childcare between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm during term time. Children attend from age three years until starting school. The nursery is registered for 30 children attending at any one time. The current roll is 30 children. The nursery provision consists of a playroom with direct access to an outdoor play space. Practitioners and children also have access to other areas of the school such as the gym hall.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Nursery and be part of a highly skilled, supportive and committed team. Our aim is to provide child-centred Early Learning and Childcare (aged 3-5 years) which reflects and responds to individual needs and identity. We are keen to hear from suitable candidates who are able to work 1 day a week (Fridays) from 8am – 3:42pm. Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorship for this post.

Skills & Experience Required: The ability to work in a team situation is essential and a flexible approach to working with young children and parents is required.

For the role of Early Childhood Practitioner, you should hold an appropriate qualification e.g. SNNEB, NNEB, HNC, SCQF level 7 equivalent or SVQ 3 in Childcare and Education or SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People), as well as have the eligibility to register with SSSC.

This role requires you to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). If you are not yet registered, you can still apply, as long as you are willing to apply for registration within 3 months of starting with us and be registered within 6 months.
