Salary: £37,015 - £40,825

Location: Blairgowrie Roads Maintenance Partnership; based at the Roads Maintenance Partnership office in Blairgowrie.

The role is to carry out statutory inspections of the road network, issue orders and instruct works crews for defect/standard repairs and monitor emergency/standard repair works. Identify and prepare works packages for direct award to in house contractor and using framework contracts.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • HNC in Civil Engineering or SVQ Level 3 in Construction Management/Supervision (desirable).
  • Equivalent work experience in Roads Maintenance (minimum 5 years) (essential).
  • Valid UK driving licence (required).
  • Good understanding of all aspects of road maintenance including winter service and reactive responses to emergencies, knowledge of Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 and New Road and Street Works Act 1991.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to use Microsoft Office and other bespoke software.
  • Ability to identify roads that require repairs and specify and supervise such work.
  • Good interpersonal skills; treat customers/clients and colleagues with equality and dignity.
  • Will take part in a year‑round out of normal hours emergency standby rota.
  • Will work outside normal working hours both on a planned basis and as otherwise reasonably required.
