Overview

We currently have the following opportunity: Social Worker/Mental Health Officer, Perth PKC13023. Salary: £45,987 – £49,065. Location: Pullar House, 35 Kinnoull Street, Perth PH1 5GD. This role is to join the Mental Health Officer Team as a Mental Health Social Worker and work with adults with severe and enduring mental health needs in community and hospital settings. The post involves discharge planning, collaboration with Mental Health Officers and NHS partners, and delivering outcome-focused assessments and recovery-focused care plans.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake a social work role closely linked with in-patient services to support adults with severe and enduring mental health needs.
  • Collaborate with discharge planning and with Mental Health Officers and NHS partners.
  • Complete comprehensive outcome-focused assessments and develop and support the implementation of personal outcome and recovery-focused care plans.
  • Engage in risk assessment and risk management work, including Adult Support and Protection, to support individuals with complex mental health needs in the community.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, carers, and other agencies; sustain inter-agency working relationships.
  • Travel across Perth and Kinross as required (valid UK driving licence essential).

Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent; must be professionally registered as per SSSC requirements.
  • Mental Health Officer qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to manage a varied and busy caseload with a genuine interest in supporting people with a wide range of issues.
  • Strong written, IT, and verbal communication skills; experience in assessment, care planning, and review processes.
  • Commitment to recovery-focused practice and improving mental health and wellbeing.
