Overview

Perth Festival is a not-for-profit multi-arts festival that brings world class international and local performance, music, film, visual arts and literary events to Perth, Western Australia, every summer. As Australia’s longest-running arts festival, we celebrate Perth, its people and its culture on the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River) and champion rich Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditions and contemporary arts practice.

We have cultivated decades of cultural growth through commissioning major new works and engaging diverse audiences.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Associate Producer, Performance to support the delivery of Perth Festival’s performance program in 2026. In this pivotal producing role, you’ll work closely with artists, companies, and internal teams to bring to life a diverse slate of performances — from concept to curtain call. You’ll be the primary point person for the artists, handling contracts, logistics, travel, and on-ground support to ensure everything runs smoothly. This is a high-impact role for someone with multi-arts producing experience, a solutions-focused mindset, and the ability to juggle complexity with clarity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Delivery & Artist Coordination
    • Liaise with artists, producers and co-presenters to finalise event details
    • Manage scheduling, logistics, ticketing, travel and hospitality needs for artists and companies
    • Support Creative Learning, Connect, and Community Engagement opportunities
  • Contracting & Budget Management
    • Manage the fulfilment of artist and company contracts
    • Track deliverables, ensure compliance, and handle artist payments
    • Monitor delegated budgets and assist with acquittals and reporting
    • Develop and distribute production schedules
    • Work closely with Production, Marketing, Development and Sponsorship teams
    • Support Marketing and Media teams with artist content, approvals and event info
  • Stakeholder & Artist Relationships
    • Represent the Festival to artists, stakeholders, and the wider community
    • Communicate clearly and professionally with all internal and external collaborators
    • Participate in planning, delivery, and post-Festival debriefs

You’ll Bring

  • Experience in producing performance works in a multi-arts or festival context
  • Strong project management and budgeting skills
  • Confident communication and collaboration across teams and with artists
  • Skilled at handling logistics, contracts, and managing timelines in high-pressure environments
  • An ability to use or pick up a range of technical systems and new software
  • Highly developed organisation skills, with great attention to detail
  • A strong commitment to equity, access, and cultural safety

Special Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Australian Driver’s Licence and be comfortable driving company vehicles
  • Availability for evening and weekend work during Festival delivery period
