Job Type: Permanent, 1 FTE, Full Time, 35 hours per week

UHI Perth is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands. We are looking for an experienced light vehicle accident repair technician, specialising in body repair or spray painting, to support the delivery of our motor vehicle programmes.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare materials for learning, teaching and assessment; deliver both theoretical and practical instruction.
  • Supervise student project work.
  • Contribute to the development of UHI Perth’s motor vehicle programmes.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a recognised time-served apprenticeship qualification, such as SVQ Level 3, Full-Tech, SCQF Level 7, or an equivalent qualification in the relevant trade area.
  • Have practical industrial experience within the automotive sector.
  • Be familiar with techniques and processes used in the repair of modern vehicles.
  • Be a well‑motivated self‑starter with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.

Support and guidance would be provided to an individual without prior teaching experience. This post undertakes regulated work with children and a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme check is required. A check will be made against the list of those barred from working with children.
