UHI Perth is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.
We are looking for an experienced light vehicle accident repair technician, specialising in body repair or spray painting, to support the delivery of our motor vehicle programmes. This role involves teaching vehicle body repair, alignment principles and vehicle paintwork repair. The campus is well resourced to provide a first‑class learning experience for our students, with a well-balanced mix of classrooms and training workshops.
You will be responsible for preparing materials for learning, teaching and assessment; delivering both theoretical and practical instruction; supervising student project work; and contributing to the development of UHI Perth’s motor vehicle programmes. Support and guidance would be provided to someone without prior teaching experience.
Candidates should, as a minimum, hold a recognised time‑served apprenticeship qualification, such as SVQ Level 3, Full‑Tech, SCQF Level 7, or an equivalent qualification in the relevant trade area. You will also have practical industrial experience within the automotive sector and be familiar with the techniques and processes used in the repair of modern vehicles.
In addition, you should be a well‑motivated self‑starter with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.
This post undertakes regulated work with children and a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme check is required. A check will be made against the list of those barred from working with children.
