Main Purpose of the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of Maths to join our school’s Secondary Maths Faculty on a full-time, permanent basis, starting in August 2025. Our Maths Faculty comprises 5 teachers. The role will be working with Secondary pupils across BGE to Advanced Higher. The closing date for applications is Sunday 22 June 2025. It is expected that interviews will be held week commencing 23 June 2025.

About the School

The Community School of Auchterarder is an all-through school, comprising Nursery, Primary and Secondary departments serving the community of Auchterarder and surrounding district. We have a roll of approximately 1,100 children and young people across all three sectors. The school is situated in a rural location, approximately 14 miles south of Perth with good road networks to the rest of Perthshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the central belt. Our Associated Primary Schools are Aberuthven, Blackford and Dunning. Our school motto is ‘Strive to Excel’ and, working together, we encourage all children and young people to aspire to be the best they can be. Our aim is to build a community of learners who are: Happy, Engaged, Ambitious, Respectful, Trustworthy. The Community School of Auchterarder, at the HEART of our community.

Skills & Experience Required

The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of pedagogies that engage learners. The successful candidate will take account of the needs of all learners in their classrooms and ensure inclusive practice that leads to positive outcomes for learners. An ability to analyse data to ensure that outcomes for young people are the best they possibly can be, will be required. High aspirations for learners, good communication skills with parents/carers and the ability to form respectful relationships are required and the successful applicant will be skilled in positive behaviour management techniques including restorative approaches.
