We currently have the following opportunity:

Grounds Maintenance Driver - PKC13537

The post holder will be required to work on a variety of environment service tasks within the Grounds Maintenance Service. As part of a team, you will perform maintenance tasks throughout the Strathearn area such as:

  • Grass and hedge cutting
  • Triple and ride on rotary driving
  • Driving vans and trailers
  • Operation of other ride on and hand powered grass cutting machinery
  • Pesticide application
  • Litter collection

The Environment Service operates new ways of working which is a variable shift system involving weekend working. The contracted shift pattern will be a Grounds Maintenance shift pattern Sunday - Wednesday, week 1 and Sunday - Tuesday, week 2.

Skills & Experience Required

  • You must be able to carry out the physical demands of the post.
  • Applicants should ideally have horticultural background with good plant knowledge.
  • You must be able to demonstrate the ability to competently operate and maintain a ride on grass cutting machine, plus all other typical grounds maintenance machinery.
  • You must be a team player who understands the importance of good morale and proactively pursues good professional relationships with colleagues.
  • You may also be required to carry out other duties such as assisting with burials, street sweeping, refuse collection (loading) and any other Environment Service's tasks as and when required.
  • A C1 + E driving licence and full CPC is essential.
  • It would be an advantage to have a PA1/6 in pesticide application or willing to undertake training.
