Main Purpose of the Role

We currently have the following opportunity: Social Worker - PKC13470 £38,322 - £40,887 (30 Hours per week) North Locality - Adult Care Social Work Team, Blairgowrie.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic qualified Social Worker who will join the North Locality, Strathmore (Blairgowrie) Adult Care Social Work Team. We are seeking a motivated social worker, who has a keen interest in working with adults in both rural and urban settings and who is committed to making a real difference to the lives of the people we serve. This is a part-time, permanent post of 30 hours per week with flexibility in relation to how best this work pattern would work for you.
The successful applicant will assist in supporting people to remain living in their local community by providing a range of social work and care management tasks. You will identify and address local need and risk and promote community wellbeing and safety. You will also work closely with families and communities to utilise all of the strengths available within the wider family network and wider community, to develop person centred supports. This will include carrying out Outcome Focussed Assessments, the negotiation of flexible packages of care, and the monitoring and reviewing of individual care packages. Responsibilities will also include statutory work under the Adults with Incapacity Act and the Adult Support and Protection Act. You will be working closely with a range of partner agencies to ensure a holistic and trauma informed approach to care and support.
The North Locality team is a busy rural social work team working with adults and unpaid carers to achieve identified outcomes. The team serves a large geographical area and provides a wide variety of care and support interventions and services. We are looking for an organised person, with a flexible approach who is well organised and holds the ability to manage time effectively and produce accurate, high quality work, often to tight timescales. North Perthshire is a beautiful and picturesque area to work, and while it brings challenges in relation to the rural nature of the area, it also provides opportunities to identify and develop local networks of support. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly dedicated team, with excellent training, supervision and development opportunities provided.

This post may be suitable for candidates who have recently completed their Social Work Degree but have not yet graduated. In this circumstance, a Social Work Assistant contract will be offered until you receive your qualifying certificate and are eligible to register with the SSSC as a Social Worker.
Skills & Experience Required
We are looking for an ambitious, compassionate practitioner who can demonstrate experience of working with integrity in line with the values of Perth and Kinross Council. You will be creative, enthusiastic, embracing of challenge, and committed to improving the journey of the people we work with and serve. We require a qualified Social Worker who has worked within a variety of settings and has experience of statutory work. You will be an organised individual with outstanding communication skills and a 'can do' attitude to problem solving. You must be computer literate with proven IT Skills, have experience in preparing and presenting clear and concise reports and presentations for a range of purposes. You must hold a recognised Social Work Qualification (Degree in Social Work, DIPSW, CQSW, CSS or other relevant Social Work qualification) and be registered as a Social Worker with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and will be further responsible for maintaining your annual membership. You must have a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work as this post is based in a rural location and requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
