Main Purpose of the Role

We currently have the following opportunity: Pupil Support Assistant (Fixed Term until 16 August 2026) - PKC13494 £6,206 - £6,541 (10 Hours per week, Term-time only) Abernyte Primary School.
As a Pupil Support Assistant, working 4 mornings per week, you will be responsible for supporting children and young people who have additional support needs to access the curriculum under the direction of teachers and senior managers. This would also include supporting positive behaviour management programmes and contributing to personal learning plans. Other support may involve active learning, assisting pupils with intimate care routines when required, and supervising pupils in the playground or out of school events or activities. Sensitivity is also required when dealing with any care routines and to respect confidentiality at all times. The role is varied and rewarding with the opportunity to work on a one-to-one basis with children. The post may include supervising children during break times along with the rest of our Pupil Support Team. Ideally, you will have experience of supporting children, but training can be provided. This role is currently based working with one of our Primary pupils.
