Primary School Support Worker (Fixed Term until 16 August 2026) – PKC12934
£8,999 – £9,484 (14.5 Hours per week, Term-time only)
Inch View Primary School, Perth

We are looking for Primary School Support Worker to join our school for 14.5 hours a week on a fixed term basis until August 2026.

The working pattern would be Monday-Friday 10.35am – 1.29pm, term time.

This post would cover outside breaktime in the mainstream playground until 11am and then the rest of the time would be within the Intensive Support Provision.

At Inch View, you will:

  • Assist in promoting and raising the standards of children\’s experiences through the provision of quality support in school; providing pastoral support to the children.
  • Support a range of pupils with additional needs including learning, communication and social barriers to learning.
  • Support our learners achieve success, supporting learners with work directed by the class teacher and undertaking some 1:1 intensive recovery work with pupils.
  • Support the wider life of the school e.g. special seasonal events, trips and prize giving.
  • Supervise children in and out with school premises during learning times, break and lunchtime.
  • Assume specific responsibilities in agreed and planned procedures for emergencies.
  • Build good and trusting relationships with children and families and adhere to child protection and equalities legislation.
  • Attend to the personal needs of the children and assist in maintaining a healthy, safe and hygienic environment.
  • Provide support for children with specific health or medical needs where appropriate.
  • Become a trained first aider and administer First Aid as required to children and staff.

You may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post. The particular duties and responsibilities attached to posts may vary from time to time depending on the requirements of the Service without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibilities entailed.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Good organisation and literacy skills.
  • Ideally you will have knowledge of Child Protection procedures.
  • Ideally you will have previous experience of working in a primary school.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with children, colleagues and parents verbally and in writing.
  • You will have a flexible attitude to sharing duties.
  • You must be willing to work indoors and outdoors.
  • You will be committed to the wider life of the school.
  • You will contribute to the performance and good reputation of the school by achieving team objectives and priorities.
  • You will demonstrate personal commitment to tasks and objectives, routinely delivering a first class service to all customers.
  • You will demonstrate a willingness to work in a collaborative environment.
  • You must be able to work independently and use your initiative.
  • Be First Aid trained or willing to undergo First Aid training.
