Job Description

\n Main Purpose of the Role\n

Working within Perth & Kinross Council is more than a job, it's about being part of an organisation that puts people at the heart of all we do and provides opportunities to make a real difference by enhancing every life we touch.

\n

We currently have the following opportunity:

\n

Training Officer, Home Assessment Recovery Team (HART) - PKC14290
\n £34,424 - £37,784
\n Based at Pullar House, Perth

\n

Are you passionate about helping people learn, develop and feel confident in their practice?

\n

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Training Officer to join the Home Assessment Recovery Team (HART), supporting both HART and HART Discharge to Assess services across Perth and Kinross.

\n

HART supports people to recover, regain independence and achieve the best possible outcomes following illness, a change in circumstances or discharge from hospital. As Training Officer, you will make an important contribution by helping to ensure that colleagues have the knowledge, practical skills and confidence required to provide safe, effective and person-centred care.

\n

Working closely with managers, coordinators, frontline colleagues and partner professionals, you will:

\n

    \n
  • Plan, develop, deliver and evaluate engaging training for individuals and groups.
  • \n

  • Coordinate and support the induction of new employees, helping them to progress confidently into their roles.
  • \n

  • Identify learning needs and adapt training in response to changing service priorities, practice developments and feedback.
  • \n

  • Support mandatory and refresher training, including the annual coordination of moving and handling requirements.
  • \n

  • Manage training records, course bookings, invitations, learning materials and associated administrative arrangements.
  • \n

  • Review and mark work completed following training, providing constructive guidance and ongoing learning support.
  • \n

  • Coordinate medication competency and sign-off arrangements, working with colleagues to promote safe and consistent practice.
  • \n

  • Support staff with shadowing plans, lone-working preparation and other practice-based learning.
  • \n

  • Contribute to the development and review of guidance, training resources and learning sessions relating to areas such as medication practice, record keeping, incident reporting, reablement, falls, frailty and mobility.
  • \n

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to share learning, strengthen practice and support continuous improvement.
  • \n

\n

You will have the autonomy to plan and manage your workload, respond flexibly to changing service demands and balance scheduled training, induction activity, development work and individual staff support.

\n

You will also contribute to quality assurance and workforce development by identifying skills gaps, evaluating the effectiveness of learning and advising managers on training priorities.

\n

This is a varied and rewarding opportunity to influence the experience of colleagues from the beginning of their employment and throughout their ongoing development. You will be joining a service that values learning, collaboration, professional curiosity and continuous improvement.

\n

The post will be based at Pullar House in Perth, with travel throughout Perth and Kinross required to support teams and deliver learning in different locations.
